about
This song is about the bittersweet consequence of following your soul's path when it leads you away from your hometown and everything you've ever known.
I wrote this song when I was 19 (2004) and it has been with me everywhere I have lived, and now it is out in the world for everyone to hear.
lyrics
Here's set down that old road again
And I'm passing through
Don't know where I'll be tomorrow
Or what I'll do
But my heart is filled with laughter
Your eyes so blue
The world starts spinning faster
So close and yet so far
Never wanted to break your heart
But I think I been running from the start
Never wanted to make you cry
But I think it is time we said goodbye
What do we know of memories?
They come and go
I won't forget about you
Oh this I know
But the road is always calling me
I have to go
So now it's just me, babe
Singing you this song
Never wanted to break your heart
But I think I been running from the start
Never wanted to make you cry
But I think it is time we said goodbye
